All exterior and interior textiles have been loomed by hand on the backstrap loom by a skilled Artisan in Guatemala. Every one of our ethical purses and handbags features full grain leather and Guatemalan huipils and other Mayan weavings. Huipil fabric is created through a Mayan weaving process that utilizes a traditional loom. This Guatemalan weaving technique requires great skill and precision. Backstrap weaving is common in many Rural areas of Guatemala.
